Our story

Meet Raquel Younglove, Neurofeedback Specialist.

Hi, I’m Raquel Younglove, Founder of Breakthrough Neurofeedback in Colorado Springs and a Neurofeedback & Brain Optimization Specialist serving clients locally and around the world through at‑home training.

For 20+ years, I’ve specialized in:

  • Neurofeedback and nervous system regulation
  • Brain and body optimization
  • Helping people feel calmer, clearer, and more capable again

As a kid, my heroes were Jesus, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sylvester Stallone. The muscles were impressive, but what really fascinated me was the mind behind the results: focus, discipline, consistency, perseverance, self‑control, and integrity.

That obsession with a strong mind turned into a lifelong question:
“How do we actually build the brain and nervous system that can live that way?”
That question has driven 40+ years of studying human behavior, performance, and healing – and eventually became both my work and my mission.

Meet our team

2005 – Entering the field

Began working in neurofeedback and brain optimization, blending my love of human behavior, performance, and wellness.

2005–2015 – Linear neurofeedback deep dive

A decade with professional‑grade, linear neurofeedback systems. Became a Brain‑Trainer Master Level 5, ranked Top 5 worldwide. Learned how powerful precise, protocol‑driven training can be – and where it has gaps.

Expanding Outreach

Opened centers in Cañon City and Pueblo, later expanding into Colorado Springs. Clients traveled from 35+ states and 3 countries for in‑person work, long before at‑home options were available.

Adding Dynamical Neurofeedback

Trained extensively in dynamical, whole-brain, self-regulating neurofeedback (including NeurOptimal®), and became an Advanced Trainer and Instructor, helping certify and mentor other practitioners. This added a second major capability: whole-brain resilience and self-regulation.

2016 – At‑home neurofeedback & global support

As technology evolved, began offering at‑home neurofeedback rentals with full remote support so families and professionals could train from home without uprooting their lives.

Beyond wiring – full brain & body optimization

Saw that “just running sessions” wasn’t enough for many people. Added tPBM light therapy, HEG prefrontal training, BioMat, LifeWave, and integrative coaching to support brain wiring, blood flow, sleep, mitochondrial energy, and real‑life stress. This became the foundation of the Brain & Body Wellness Stack I use today.

Today, I use both linear and dynamical neurofeedback, plus targeted tools and coaching, to design individualized plans instead of one‑size‑fits‑all protocols.

My Own Journey With Brain & Body Healing

Circular badge with text 'Measurable shift by session 16 - or 3 sessions free*'.

My work isn’t just professional – it’s personal.
At 15, my back was broken in a car accident. By 21, a lumbar surgery failed and left me with long‑term structural issues and pain. I was told to manage and do less. I chose the opposite:

  • Strength training
  • Traumatic marriage and divorce
  • 15+ years as a single mom, rebuilding life and stability for myself and my son, Matyas

He was born early, with mind–body and visual challenges layered on top of emotional stress. Using the same tools I now offer – neurofeedback, nervous system regulation, and brain‑based habits – I watched him:

  • Improve mind/body and eye/brain coordination
  • Build confidence and emotional regulation
  • Stay out of constant fight/flight/freeze
  • Relentlessly persevere

He tested out of high school at 15, is in the final stage of receiving three free years of college to graduate high school with an Associate’s Degree, stacked certifications (Microsoft, QuickBooks), and now helps behind the scenes with the systems that keep this work running.

I share this not to highlight achievement, but to show what can become possible when a nervous system has the support it needs to regulate, stabilize, and mature.

So when people ask, “Do you do this work yourself?” the answer is absolutely. I don’t recommend anything I haven’t tested, used, and refined on myself, my family, or my own nervous system.

Why Breakthrough Is Different

Multi‑system+ multi‑tool, not a single-system clinic

Most places run one system and one protocol. I combine linear and dynamical neurofeedback with additional Brain Optimization Tools (HEG, tPBM, BioMat, LifeWave) that I’ve tested and refined over years – so we can match what you need instead of forcing everyone into the same box.

Whole‑brain and whole‑person

We look at wiring and health: brainwaves, blood flow, sleep, nervous system load, mitochondrial energy, and real‑life stress. Your plan may include neurofeedback, HEG, tPBM, recovery tools, and coaching inside a step‑by‑step Brain & Body Wellness Stack.

Custom protocols and plans

Protocol selection and plan design are the real differentiators. We don’t just “run sessions” – we design Brain Reset Foundations and Brain Power Stacks that fit your brain, life, and capacity.

Support beyond the brain session

When brains optimize, people feel a pull to live differently but don’t always know how. High‑performance and integrative coaching (time, communication, conflict resolution, habits) helps your life expand with your brain.

Clinical Partner

Mary Pat is our clinical partner for Medicaid, TriWest, and complex cases. She:

  • Provides therapy and mental‑health support
  • Collaborates on treatment planning for more complex presentations
  • Ensures that when deeper clinical work is needed, it’s integrated with brain training rather than separate from it
Ty

Ty

-

Director of Operations

Ty helps keep everything behind the scenes running smoothly:

  • Prepping, checking in, and maintaining rental systems
  • Handling shipping, returns, and IT troubleshooting
  • Supporting clients with practical questions about setup and tech

He’s also done brain training himself and understands what it’s like to be on the client side, which makes his support grounded and real.

Why this matters

Most clients meet with me for Brain Plan Calls and high‑level plan design. The Breakthrough Team makes sure everything around that plan runs smoothly – from tech and logistics to therapy partnerships when needed – so you’re supported by a system, not just one person’s calendar.

How We Can Help (What We Do)

At Breakthrough Neurofeedback, we help children, teens, and adults:

  • Calm an overactive nervous system
  • Improve sleep, focus, and mood
  • Recover more fully after stress, trauma, or injury
  • Build the clarity and capacity to pursue what matters

We do that through:

Who We Serve

Boy lying on a patterned blanket, wearing earphones and a Cowboys shirt, focused on a small object in his hands.
  • Children, teens, and adults with anxiety, ADHD, sleep issues, brain fog, depression, trauma, TBI, and more
  • Parents and families who want calmer homes, better focus, and more emotional regulation
  • Professionals and athletes who want their brains to match their goals
  • Veterans and first responders (including through Mt. Carmel Veteran Services and Firefighters Benefit Trust)
  • Clients supported through programs such as TriWest, Medicaid (Colorado), and Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), where applicable
  • High‑performing professionals and athletes who want their brains to match their goals and take performance from “functional” to exceptional

Whether you’re seeking in‑person care in Colorado Springs or at‑home training with worldwide support, the goal is the same: a calmer, clearer, more resilient brain – and a life that feels possible again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Breakthrough Neurofeedback for?

We work withchildren, teens, and adults dealing with anxiety, ADHD, sleep issues, brainfog, depression, trauma, concussion/TBI, and general stress and burnout. Wealso support high‑performing professionals and athletes who want more capacityand resilience, not just “symptom relief.”

Do I have to do anything outside sessions?

Yes. What we do in sessions and with our tools is powerful — but it does not override basic biology.
If you are cutting sleep short, overstimulating your nervous system, under-fueling your body, or relying on alcohol or substances, it will limit how much change is possible and how long results last.

For sleep specifically, this matters: you have to put yourself in bed long enough to allow the opportunity for the sleep your brain actually needs. Neurofeedback can help regulate the system, but it can’t create sleep time that isn’t there.

We don’t givegeneric advice. We provide highly personalized guidance to help you understandwhat your brain and body need — and how to realistically implementhabits that support brain and nervous system health long-term. This is a teameffort.

How do I know where to start?

Two simple steps:

  1. Take the Brain Regulation Pattern Quiz to get language for what your brain seems to be dealing with.
  2. Book a Brain Plan Call so we can review your history, goals, and capacity and recommend a Brain Reset Foundation plan, Brain Power Stack, tools‑only start, or a combination.

Where are you located? Do you work with people outside Colorado?

Our in‑person clinic is in Colorado Springs, CO. We also offer at‑home neurofeedback, HEG, and tPBM programs with full remote support across the U.S. and in some cases internationally.
